Seek Him First // Haggai 1:1-11; 2:5-9

Our lives are bombarded by a million individual stressors and anxieties every day. New desires appear on our horizon and our plotting to gain them begins to shape our will and can steal our entire focus or even our joy. Most become lost to such thinking to varying degrees. Still others have opted out of the world, seeking freedom from all worldly desire through Buddhism or similar faith systems that promise to "teach" inner-peace. Christians in ages past, and even in the present, have sought such peace through extreme aestheticism by exiling themselves in monasteries.
Unfortunately, this sort of self-exile removes nothing but some of the external stimuli. We are still left with the inner-man, the heart, which Scripture tells us is "desperately sick..." (Jeremiah 17:9, ESV). But there is a better way towards a guaranteed peace that is everlasting.
Join us this Sunday at 9:30am for Adult Sunday School as we study the short book of Haggai. We look forward to seeing you here. We have two classes: one meets in the Fellowship Hall and the other in the first room to the right as you walk into the Sanctuary.
